Scope

Due to popular demand I have arranged a second visit to the Central Line Improvement Programme (CLIP) work being carried out on the Central Line trains at Acton. This work includes replacement of the DC chopper system and DC motors with a modern three phase AC traction package, replacement of the Train Management System, upgrade of the passenger information system with in-saloon displays, installation of saloon security CCTV, replacing the lighting with LED's, modifications to provide compliance with the Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations 2010, repairing door pillar cracks and floor corrosion, completing replacement of body ends originally started in 2012, overhauling the pneumatic door engines and doors and overhauling the bogies.

The visit will include a tour of the workshops looking at the various modifications being progressed.
