Talk synopsis

After years of negative media attention, Crossrail, Europe’s largest infrastructure project delivered the Elizabeth line into revenue service on 24th May 2022. Despite complex interfaces and numerous technical challenges along the way the line is now carrying well over 2 million passengers per week in the central section with high levels of safety, reliability and customer satisfaction. This talk will look back at how the challenges with the Elizabeth line’s signalling systems were overcome, the path to line-opening and the early in-service experience.
