Talk synopsis

The Society's Annual General Meeting will be followed by a talk on Why GoA4? - It's a lot more than a signalling system. The Singapore perspective.

Singapore now has over twenty years’ experience of operating GoA4 heavy metros. The presentation will look at Singapore’s integrated land transport policy and how GoA4 operation is forms a critical part.

But what is a GoA4 system? It is not a signalling system but a highly available complete metro system with degraded mode operation driving the complexity. The presentation will then follow the day in the life of a GoA4 train looking at how the operator’s role is automated. It will consider system interfaces and how automatic degraded mode responses are designed into the system.
