The Copenhagen S-bane resignalling project involves upgrading 170km of railway from legacy ATP to Siemens Trainguard MT CBTC, fitting CBTC to 135 legacy trains and 14 maintenance vehicles, and providing a new Traffic Management System. While the project currently delivers ATO (GoA2), there is provision for a future upgrade to UTO (GoA4).
This presentation is intended to give a high level overview of the Copenhagen S-bane resignalling project, focusing on the scope of the project, the contract, collaboration between Banedanmark and Siemens and a high level overview of the technologies being implemented.

Chris is a senior engineer working for SNC-Lavalin with over 30 years’ experience in railway signalling projects including, light rail, metro and telecommunications. For the last 9 years, he has been seconded to Banedanmark, initially as the Design Manager and currently as the Design Manager and Deputy Project Manager.
