Woolwich Ferries
Venue: 8th Floor, Victoria Station House, London
Speakers: Jeremy Manning
Registration: Not Open / Closed
Summary of the talk
There has been a ferry service of one form or another at Woolwich for centuries and this is now operated by Briggs Marine Ltd on behalf of TfL. During January 2019 two new hybrid diesel electric vessels and associated infrastructure were brought into service to replace the aging ferries in use since 1964.
This presentation will provide a brief history of the service, the scope of the recent project and introduce some of the systems and technology utilised. It will also cover the issues experienced during mobilisation, how these were addressed and our ongoing challenges.
