Synopsis:

East West Rail is creating a new direct connection between Oxford and Cambridge, and beyond. Serving communities across the area, it will bring faster journey times and lower transport costs as well as easing pressure on local roads. The new line will provide much needed infrastructure, which will unlock new opportunities for jobs, tourism and housing and support local services with a quicker, cheaper and more reliable form of transport.
The East West Railway Company’s role is to oversee and accelerate delivery of East West Rail, working closely with Network Rail and the East West Rail Alliance to deliver the Section between Oxford and Bedford, while leading the development of the section between Bedford and Cambridge.
They were set with an innovative remit to challenge the status-quo and positively disrupt the rail industry, leading to quicker and more cost-effective project delivery, and an improved experience for passengers.
